RESPONSE FROM “AUNT DAWN NARET” -
A very idealistic vision expressed of what the u.s.a. position in global leadership should be.
three cheers for marcy ! i was not able to get a connect on the link to the article. but i dont expect that the content veered far from the initial intro.
promoting the beating of swords into plowshares. . . seems long over due. how long is a civilized society expected to tolerate the immature childplay of grown men who unjustly force the taxpayers to buy them new toys so they can continue in the delusion of achieving – king of the hill – the hill is not theirs ! get off of it !
do we need to go out to contain the possible aggressiveness of every other hill climber ?
suppose we kept all of our military right here. keeping them on american bases, doing advanced military training and recieving o.j.t. education in urban warfare tactics to provide for our national defence.
they could also obtain their o.j.t. engineering edu. and practice right here building bridges and improving infra-structure right here. this would save trillions in federal and state taxpayer money. oh !
pooh pooh you say, for lost gov. contracts. . . i have witnessed the inflated pricing and budget wasting for decades and we are not amused ! taypayers are not obligated to promote or provide for a corporate welfare state.
lost jobs ? how about increased military careers opportunities ?
lost corporate profits ? the profit margins and net incomes of gov. contract companies has been deceptively and unjustly over paid. the numbers never were a reality to the products or services provided. they were living the american dream by pounding down their incomes from the blood and sweat of the taxpayers. who are always over looked when it is assumed that the gov. can afford it. . .
the gov. cannot afford anything, because the gov. does not possess one red cent !
one hundred percent of all gov. revenue is owned by the american taxpayers.
you might hear. . . oh yeah, i know what you mean in theory, but reality just doesnt work that way !. . . . well you had better wipe the latte out from behind your ears bubba, because it was working since before you were born ! since the days of honor in this country. and do yot know why it was part of the working system ? because it is the law of the u.s. constitution !
any entrusted management of the peoples money, conducted by authorized, temporary officials, that is not directly accomplishing the maintenance of a defensive national military within our borders, the maintenance of national infra-structure and the provision of nec. social svcs., education and judiciary functions that will provide for the safety, opportunity, freedom and protection of all inalienable rights, as guaranteed by the u.s. constitutionany expenditure or activity, must aim to efficiently accomplish these basic guarantees to the owners of this country, the american citizens, or it is misappropriation of funds.
boys, it is time to become a man and put away the childish toys and the delta dummy dreams and disputes on the hill and in the senate. we have a country under attack and in need of rebuilding right here ! – dawn naret’, pittsburgh, pa, usa
*For the record, here is an introduction to an outstanding american candidate that inspired me to sound off !

“Stridently anti-war – at a debate,” Marcy Winograd suggested the United States be a “superpower of peace” — and yes, she already took “41 percent of the vote against Harman” in last June’s primary.

Marcy Winograd
Winograd, 57, lives just outside of the district, in Santa Monica.
Stridently anti-war – at a debate, she suggested the United States be a “superpower of peace” – she took 41 percent of the vote against Harman in last June’s primary.
In a district with defense contractors Raytheon, Boeing and Northrop Grumman, Winograd unabashedly pushes a transition from weapons-making to clean-energy manufacturing, suggesting a “Green New Deal” to spur innovation and create jobs.
A Crenshaw High School teacher, Winograd has never strayed from her activist roots. In this campaign cycle alone, she has supported opponents of a proposed Walmart store in Torrance and protested with Redondo Beach Unified School District teachers facing job reductions.
“I really think a campaign should be about something beyond the candidacy,” Winograd said. “You stand for something.”
With foreign policy, where Hahn and Bowen take a moderate-to-liberal line, Winograd goes full-tilt progressive.
Winograd, who is Jewish, has compared the plight of Palestinians in Israel to apartheid in South Africa.
She supports a two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians, or a one-state solution where all have an equal voice.
While Hahn and Bowen argue for Israel’s right to defend itself against a nuclear Iran, Winograd says bombing nuclear reactors in that country would be catastrophic.
“To bomb these sites would mean jeopardizing the lives of tens of thousands, spread radioactive contamination around the globe and potentially start a third world war,” Winograd said.
